Is our data backed up in case of an emergency?#

  • Our servers are RAID enabled and therefore all data is mirrored to another hard disk. In case of disk failure, the mirrored disk takes over and there is no data loss.
  • We perform daily full backups of the database on magnetic tapes and stored in a safe location.
  • We ship transaction logs to remote standby database server to ensure maximum data protected and proper disaster recovery.
  • In case of Amazon EC2 cloud instances, data is stored on highly reliable Elastic Block Storage (EBS) medium and daily snapshots of the EBS volumes are taken.

Is Greytip Online reliable, secure, and confidential? Is our data safe? Where is the data hosted?#

  • We take all reasonable precautions to keep your information safe and secure. Our servers are hosted on the Amazon EC2 cloud computing environment. You can read about Amazon’s proven network infrastructure and datacenters, features and their SLA on their website.
  • For our premium services, we host the servers at the Netmagic datacenter. Netmagic is a carrier-neutral datacenter that is ISO 27001 (formerly BS7799-2) certified and SAS70 Audit (Type II) compliant. You can learn more about the facilities offered by them on their website.
  • Right from the start, the web application is designed to run on the Internet with security in mind. It's programmed to avoid all common security vulnerabilities.
  • The servers, operating systems and applications are hardened and protected by multiple levels of firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

Can we export our data if we don’t want to use Greytip Online service anymore? What format is the export in?#

Greytip Online provides extensive data import and export facilities. You can export all your employee and payroll information to Excel spreadsheets.

Can we install Greytip Online on our own server?#

Greytip Online is designed to be a web service. You don't need to worry about buying software, installation, updates, upgrades, backup and security. We host the application on our servers and handle all these aspects for you as part of the service.

However, we also provide Folklore suite of products for on-premise use. Please get in touch with our sales team for further information.

Do you provide phone support?#

Phone support is available only for the premium plans. We provide unlimited online support through our ticketing system. You can also get help by visiting our forums and feedback site.

Can you customize Greytip Online for us?#

All our customers use the same version of the application. While we can't take up customizations that may impact other customers, we offer numerous options to customize colors, upload your logo, design your payslips, enable/disable features, etc. We also listen to our customer feedback and enhance our solution on the basis of the most demanded features.

Are there signup fees? Termination fees? Any hidden fees we should know about?#

Absolutely not. We are very transparent in our billing and don't charge any other fees for the standard service apart from the fixed monthly fees.

Any special requirements, requests, consultation and training is done on a chargeable basis.

How does your refund policy work?#

Greytip Online is a month-to-month, pay-as-you-go service so we don’t provide refunds. You are billed every 30 days for the service. You can cancel the service at any time and you won’t be charged again, but you are responsible for any charges already incurred.

Do you have an affiliate or reseller program? Do you white label your products?#

We currently don't have an affiliate program but intend to introduce one shortly. Till such time, please contact us directly and we will work out an arrangement.

Is Greytip Online available in other languages besides English?#

No. We currently support only English language interface.

If we upgrade will we be billed twice this month? If we downgrade will we be prorated?#

Any changes to the billing plan are effective from the next billing period only. We don't support dynamic changes in plans or prorating at this time.
