How do I Assign a Top Level Manager?#

All the divisions/ teams in an organization will be reporting to a Top Level Manager. But this manager will not have any reporting hierarchy.

The Top level manager will be added from Employee Information > Add Employee feature. This new addition will appear under org tree after which all the teams / employees will be assigned.

This addition can also be imported using the excel importer tool.

Steps :

  1. Add the new Manager using Employee Information > Add Employee Feature. See here to add new employee.
  2. The new Manager is now seen under Org Tree as Employees without Manager.
  3. Select and drag and drop this employee on top of the hierarchy.
  4. Select all groups / employees and drag and drop them under the new Manager.
  5. You will now notice all the employees / groups are listed under the Top Manager. Click Save to save the changes.

Use Excel importer to upload data.#

The option to import org tree details works similar to any other importer type. Prepare the data in the prescribed format before importing and use Excel Importer tool > Organization Tree Details to upload the file. Since this is the Top Level Manager details, the Reporting Manager details and the Reporting From fields are left blank.
